2026 Parent Payment Policy & Information

Alfredton Primary School has voluntary financial contributions

Whilst schools provide students with free instruction to fulfill the standard Victorian curriculum, we want to assure you that all contributions are voluntary. Nevertheless, the ongoing support of our families ensures that our school can offer the best possible education and support for our students. The Voluntary financial contribution makes a huge difference to our school and the programs we can offer. Within our school, this support has allowed us to buy library books, update computer technology, have more IT support, help maintain our grounds, have more student support services and much more.

Racism is Not Tolerated at Alfredton Primary School

Alfredton Primary School is committed to fostering a welcoming, inclusive and respectful environment where racism is not tolerated. Racism harms students’ wellbeing, learning outcomes and sense of belonging. We celebrate the diversity of cultures, ethnicities, languages, backgrounds and faiths within our school community and recognise that diversity strengthens our school.

It is the responsibility of all members of the Alfredton Primary School community to contribute to a safe, inclusive and culturally responsive environment where every student, staff member and family is treated with dignity and respect.

Alfredton Primary School follows the Department of Education’s Preventing and Addressing Racism in Schools Policy. We are committed to building a culturally safe school where all students can thrive by working in partnership with staff, students, families, carers and the wider community.

We will:

  • provide learning opportunities that celebrate diversity, inclusion and cultural understanding while building empathy and respect for others
  • explicitly teach our school values of Respect, Responsibility and Learning, and reinforce inclusive behaviours through our School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) framework
  • create classroom environments that reflect and value diverse cultures, identities and experiences
  • support staff to identify, prevent and respond effectively to racism and discrimination
  • ensure all students have equitable access to learning opportunities and support
  • provide clear, safe and accessible pathways for students, families and staff to report racism
  • respond promptly and appropriately to incidents of racism and discrimination
  • work with families and community partners to strengthen cultural safety and inclusion across our school.

If your child experiences or witnesses racism or religious discrimination at school, please let us know as soon as possible. Families can report concerns to:

  • their child’s classroom teacher
  • a member of the Wellbeing Team
  • an Assistant Principal
  • the Principal

If you do not feel comfortable reporting racism directly to the school, or you are not satisfied with the school’s response, you can report racism to:

For additional support following an incident of racism:

  • First Nations students, staff and families can contact the Victorian Aboriginal Education Association Inc. (VAEAI)
  • Jewish students, staff and families can contact the Jewish Community Council of Victoria
  • Muslim students, staff and families can contact the Islamic Council of Victoria

For more information about reporting racism or religious discrimination in Victorian government schools, families can visit the Department of Education website.

Interpreter services are available for families who require language support when communicating with the school.

When a report of racism is made, Alfredton Primary School will:

  • take all reports seriously and respond promptly
  • provide support to students, families and staff affected by the incident
  • investigate concerns fairly, respectfully and confidentially
  • take appropriate action in accordance with Department policy and school procedures
  • keep affected parties informed throughout the process, while respecting privacy obligations
  • monitor outcomes and review incidents to help prevent similar situations from occurring in the future
  • use incidents as opportunities to strengthen education, understanding and inclusion across our school community.

Frequently Asked Questions

Alfredton Primary School operates between 8.55am till when they are dismissed at 3:30pm. All students should be at school by 8:50am to allow them time to unpack their bags and organise their belongings ready for learning.

Recess is between 11- 11:30 am and lunch is between 1.30 pm and 2.30pm. Children have a fruit break at approx 10am

A lunch order service is available every Friday. Orders are made via the QKR app and must be place by 9am Thursday morning. Lunches are delivered to the school at lunchtime

All students are required to wear the Alfredton Primary School uniform which includes black shoes and/or black runners. The uniform is available from various suppliers. Please refer to the School Uniforms Section.
