Our OSHC program is guided by the same values that make Alfredton Primary School a great place to learn, respect, responsibility and resilience.
We believe the hours outside the classroom matter just as much as those within it. We take a play-based approach, offering a balance of structured activities, creative experiences, outdoor play and quiet time.
Every child is different, and we celebrate that. Working closely with families to make sure all children can participate, belong and thrive.
What does a typical session look like?
Before School Care
6:30am – 8:45am
Children are welcomed and signed in on arrival. A light breakfast is available including cereals and fruit, along with water. From there it’s a relaxed start to the day with free play, quiet activities and time to connect with friends before heading to class.
After School Care
3:30pm – 6:00pm
Children are signed in after school and settle in with a light afternoon snack. The program includes a mix of play-based activities, outdoor play, creative experiences and an optional quiet homework space for students who’d like it.
Vacation Care
7:00am – 6:00pm
A full day of fun, structured activities and free play. Children should bring their own lunch. Programs vary each vacation period so keep an eye out for our vacation care schedule closer to each break.
What to bring
Term time: No need to bring food, breakfast and afternoon snacks are provided.
Vacation care: Children should bring a packed lunch and a water bottle. Comfortable clothes suitable for active play are always a good idea!
Our expectations
Our OSHC is a safe, inclusive space where children are expected to show respect for others, follow staff directions and take care of shared equipment and spaces. We use positive, supportive strategies to help children make great choices. Where needed, we work in partnership with families to find the best path forward.
Fees & Child Care Subsidy
- Before School Care – $30 per session
- After School Care – $35 per session
- Vacation Care – $70 per session (bring own lunch)
Most families pay significantly less than the full session fee. The Federal Government’s Child Care Subsidy (CCS) is paid directly to our service, meaning you only pay the gap fee.
Eligibility for CCS is managed through Services Australia, and most working families will qualify.
Ready to enrol?
Enrolment is simple and managed online through Xplor. We encourage all families to enrol even if you only need care occasionally, as being enrolled means you can make a booking at short notice when those unexpected days come up. Students from Alfredton Primary School and all local primary schools are welcome to join our program.
You’ll need to have the following ready when you enrol:
- Immunisation records
- Emergency contact details
- Medicare card details
