Key information for Parents and Caregivers on enrolling in Foundation at Alfredton Primary School
Transition Timetable for all 2025 Foundation Student
Information Evening for parents/carers at Alfredton Primary School on Wednesday 30th October from 6.30 pm to 7.30 pm.
Session 1: Thursday 7th November
The students will join us at school to participate in story-telling and craft activities. There will be an opportunity to meet other 2025 Foundation students and our current Foundation teaching team.
Time: 9:10 am – 10:45 am
Bring: A drink bottle
Where: Foundation classrooms
Session 2: Monday 18th November
The students will join us at school to participate in various learning activities. These will help the students become familiar with the Foundation classrooms, teachers, school routines and expectations.
Time: 9:10 am -11:00 am
Bring: Morning snack and a drink bottle
Where: Foundation classrooms
Session 3: Tuesday 10th December
Our final session is the State-Wide Orientation Day. The students need to bring morning tea and lunch on this day. They will again be involved in various learning experiences including visits to the Music, LOTE (Japanese) and Science rooms. They will also enjoy a Physical Education session in the School Hall.
Time: 9:10 am – 1:00 pm
Bring: Morning snack, lunch and a drink bottle

Enrolling in Foundation (Prep) for 2025
- Use Find my School to locate your designated neighborhood school (referred to as your local school) and other nearby government schools.
- Contact us here at Alfredton Primary to book a school tour or to learn more about the school and the enrolment application process.
- Download the ‘Student Enrolment Form” and complete it. The school can also provide you with a copy of the form to complete.
- Submit an enrolment application for Foundation (Prep) by Friday 26 July 2024.
- Once your child’s enrolment has been confirmed, we will require the following documents:
- Enrolment Form – Click on enrolment for the green tab below (you can print off the form or collect one from the school office)
- Birth Certificate
- Immunisation Statement from Medicare
- Your child’s most recent school report (if transferring from another school).
- 100 Point residential check – Please click on the link below for information.
- You will be notified of the outcome of your application between Monday 29 July and Friday 9 August 2024. If you receive an enrolment offer, you should accept the offer by Friday 23 August 2024.
- Take part in enrolment information and transition sessions during Term 4, 2024.
- Your child will start Foundation (Prep) on Wednesday, 29 January 2025.
