The transition from Kindergarten to school is a very big step for most children. At Alfredton Primary School we try to make that transition as happy and exciting as possible. We have developed a transition program that encourages children and their parents to visit the school several times. They participate in special activities with current prep children, meet teachers, make new friends and discover the joys of school. Occasions, such as Open Days and Information Sessions, provide the answers for parents' questions. The program is intended to take any stress out of a sometimes difficult time for both children and parents. An information booklet has been produced as a comprehensive guide for prospective parents and children, and provides details about the school, the transition program and the special needs of children beginning school.
