Teddy Bear Appeal

In 2003 some schools in Ballarat responded to the horrific Canberra fires by sending new teddy bears and other soft toys to children who had lost everything. With the terrible devastation from Cyclone Larry in far north Queensland another Teddy Appeal was launched.

People in Ballarat were invited to participate by dropping soft toys into Alfredton Primary School before Easter.  A big thank you to all people who donated well over 50 teddy bears and other soft toys to the Teddy Appeal in far north Queensland. Some businesses such as Cardeax and the AFL Shop in Stockland Wendouree also contributed. I’m sure that there will be many grateful children who will appreciate the love and concern displayed through these gifts. Freight charges for this quantity of toys could have reached into the hundreds of dollars so special thanks to Kerry & Gerard at TOLL-IPEC who provided free transport to Cairns.
