Grade 6 Butter making

(To read the captions, place the arrow over the pictures.)

Yesterday, the 13th Of March 2002, grades 6R and 6W made butter with a bit of cream, 2 marbles and a cream container. We had a lot of fun mixing and spilling the half cream, half butter. We took about 15 pictures with the digital camera of all the fun we had. One of the pictures is at the bottom of this page. Mr. Westaway was shaking like mad (well, it was cold & I was shivering-Mr W), but I don't know what his butter turned out to look like. Amelia got her cream all over herself. It was all over her! Josh Wi spilt his and we think about 70% of the two classes actually made butter! That is pretty good!

Carla and Tyson's cream just stayed cream no matter what they did. Rhys made butter first, then Matt R and then Tania. Some people were getting mad because their cream stayed cream like Carla and Tyson's. Angie, Jordan and Grace had to resort to mechanical power. They had to use the electric beater. Cream got everywhere, even on Mrs Romey's good jacket!! The butter that we made, well most of us made, tasted excellent!

Reported By: JJ & Rhys 6R
